Helen Ann Hariford, 71, a resident of Port Allen, Louisiana and a native of Cottonport, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. peacefully at her daughter's home in Port Allen, after a courageous battle with cancer. Our sweet Mama and Maw-Maw was surrounded by her loving family until the very end as she passed from this world into the kingdom of Heaven where her loved ones gone before her are waiting. Helen was born June 10, 1946 in Cottonport, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley J. Billiodeaux and Marie (Aymond) Lemoine, an infant grandson, Chance Michael Harris, daughter-in-law, Nancy Hariford and brother-in-law, PW Guillot. Helen was a private care sitter and has lovingly cared for many patients just as we have done for her these past months. She taught us well how to be loving, compassioniate, and caring. She loved her flowers and hummingbirds, dancing and singing along to the Cajun music and her Roland Doucet on the radio, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived out her last days making cherished memories with her dearest family and friends. Visiting and a memorial service will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 27th, with a Rite of Christian Burial at 7 p.m., conducted by Father David Allen. Helen is survived by her sons, Clyde Hariford, Jr., wife Trinity and John J. Hariford; two daughters, Donna Hariford Harris and Elizabeth Hariford Plauche and her husband Todd; grandchildren, Christopher, Devan, Bradly, Staci, (wife Kattarina), Laken, Bryce, Kaitlin and Avery; great grandchildren Braylen, Gracelynn and Braidon. Also survived by a sister, Lula Mae Guillot and numerous nieces and nephews including one very special niece, Patricia Bankston, who was our mother's lifelong best friend and a tremendous help to us during this journey, never leaving her side. Hononary pallbearers are Todd Plauche, Devan, Christopher, Bradly Hariford, and Bryce Harris. Our family would like to express a special thanks to our nurse Trisha and the entire team at Amedisys Hospice. In lieu of flowers...just remember our Mama LOVED her flowers!! Elizabeth, I'm so sorry for you and your families loss! She was a sweet, loving, caring and funny mom to all of us growing up!! I'll never forget that big smile she had when we would tell our stories about things we did that weekend. My prayers and love sent your way! Love you!
