Young Jr., Howard Lee "Butch" A resident of Denham Springs and Marion, he died Monday, May 9, 2005, in Denham Springs. Visiting at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel, Natchez, Miss., on Friday, May 13, from noon until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bubba Hoggart and the Rev. Mark Gill. Burial in Natchez City Cemetery. Mr. Young was 48, born Feb. 25, 1957, in Natchez, Miss., the son of Howard Lee "Sonny" Young Sr. and Patsy Campbell Young. He attended St. Richards of Jackson, Miss., St. Joan of Arc of LaPlace, and Jesuit High School of New Orleans. He graduated from International School of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He attended Tulane and received his degree from LSU. He held various jobs in the computer industry and served with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Patricia Gale Young Collins; grandparents, Margie and Lindsey Young, T.H. and Juanita Dukes Darsey and Charles E. Campbell; and great-grandparents, Lily and W.C. Dukes. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Akin Young of Denham Springs and Marion; sons, Samuel Blake Hodges of Fort Myers, Fla., Howard Lee Young III and Bryn Jackson Young, both of Denham Springs and Marion; mother, Patsy Campbell Collins of Natchez, Miss.; adoptive father, Phillip Dean Collins of Clarksville, Ark.; sisters, Chrystal Young Collins Vasquez of Cathage, Miss., Dr. Deanna Collins McDonald of Missouri City, Texas, and V. Lynn Collins of New York and Los Angeles; godmother, Sissy Eidt of Natchez; mother and father-in-law, Donna and Perry Akin, Marion; and grandfather-in-law, John Jackson Akin of Marion. Pallbearers will be Greg Watts, Michael Vasquez, Jason Vasquez, Van Cochren and Warren Whatley. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Calcote.
