James Allen Scott, a native of Evergreen, LA, long time resident of Maurepas, LA and current resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice after an extended stay at Colonial Care Retirement Center. He retired as Assistant Chief from the Baton Rouge Fire Department after many years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. An avid reader, motorcyclist, photographer, ham radio operator and traveler, he donated his body to the LSU School of Medicine. He is survived by his daughter, Traci Culmone & husband, Bobby of Pride, LA; granddaughters, Jovi Tomeny & husband Sean, Gabrielle Culmone and Skylar Culmone; great-grandchildren, Wilder and Ahnley Tomeny, all of Baton Rouge; sisters, Eura ""Scottie"" Shepard of Johnson City, TN, Sue Scott & husband Phil Latteo of San Antonio, TX, Martha Scott of Baton Rouge; brother, Pat Scott of Baton Rouge and wife Carol Scott of Baton Rouge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Neil Griffin of Sebring, FL, who rode many miles and shared many interests with him. Stepson Phillip ""Rip"" Glindmeyer and his children Brian, Brad and Kayla Glindmeyer. He was preceded in death by parents, Eura and James Scott; sister, Betty Duncan; and brother, William Scott. Many thanks to the staff at Colonial Care Retirement Center, The Crossing, and Baton Rouge General Medical Center for the care and kindness offered both James and the family. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Resthaven Funeral Home on Jefferson Highway from 12:30 pm until a memorial service at 1:00 pm. Arrangements made by Professional Funeral Services and Resthaven Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, 3772 North Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
