May 20, 2018, The Lord our God called home our loving Angel, Jean Theresa Loar. Mom, MawMaw, Nanny or Aunt Jean are the loving names she was called by her family. She filled her family's heart with much love, always gave herself and offered forgiveness no matter what. She will now be home and at peace with her heavenly family that she missed so much. One of her favorite times of the year was her birthday. She loved that two of her grandsons, Josh Johnson and Scott Jernigan would plan a big blow out for her special day and everyone would come from near and far to wish her many more special birthdays. She loved watching everyone have fun. Family was Jean's whole world. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne LeBlanc Gonzales and Antoine Gonzales; her husband of 58 years, Eugene B. Loar, Sr.; her sisters, Emma Medine, Beatrice Gonzales, Adele Miley, Una Dugas, Lois Speeg and her twin sister, Jeanette Dugas; a brother, Antoine Edward "Eddie" Gonzales; son-in-law, David Johnson; grandson, Ethan Henry and granddaughter, Nikki Lambert. She leaves behind to cherish forever our loving memories of her, two daughters, Donna Rae Lambert (Warren) and Belinda Johnson (George Cupit); son, Eugene Bennette Loar, Jr. (Cindy); 12 grandchildren, Scott Jernigan, John Jernigan (Robin), Stephen Jernigan (Donna Jean), James Jernigan, Alice Edwards (Steve), Laura Henry, Ashley Moorehead (Kris), Joshua Johnson (Danielle), Jessica Bailey (Brian), Blake Johnson (Ashley), Travis Johnson, Stacy Loar-Porter (Jason) and Rachel Ardoin (Terence Levy); 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her Godchild, Evelyn Cox and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Father Frank Uter. The graveside service and burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. Her 7 grandsons, John, Scott, Stephen and James Jernigan and Joshua, Travis and Blake Johnson, who worshiped her will carry her to rest beside her husband, Gene.
