A native and life-long resident of Fordoche, LA., Jessie Doiron Bourgeois was born on February 10, 1921 and died on September 28, 2016. She attended Fordoche Elementary School and graduated from Livonia High School. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Chapel where she faithfully attended Mass until her health no longer permitted and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Ladies Altar Society. She was a Livonia High School Bus Driver and served as Postmaster of Fordoche from 1973 until her retirement in 1986. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs Baseball fan and loved Country Music. She is survived by daughter, Lynnell Bourgeois Ransome (Paul); son, Parnell Blaise Bourgeois (Yvonne); grandchildren: Shon Bourgeois (Jenny); Laura Bourgeois LoBue (Lou); Judith Ransome Farr (Michael); and Matthew Bourgeois (Hannah); great-grandchildren: Ann-Marie and Jessie Bourgeois; Paige LoBue; Jacob and Owen Farr; Ezra, Evie, Elliot, and Evangeline Bourgeois. She is also survived by grandchildren by marriage: Daria Ransome, Anne Ransome Rome (Ray), Brian Ransome, Steven Ransome, Bruce Ransome (Janet), Jeffrey Ransome (Linda); 9 great-grandchildren and 11 great, great-grandchildren by marriage; sister, Nora Doiron Kimball; nieces and nephews: Claire Legier, Will Kimball (Glenda), Charles Kimball, Kelli Kimball, and Kevin Kimball (Sherry); and faithful friend, Marie Zito. Preceded in death by: husband of seventy-three and one half years, Nelson Joseph Bourgeois; parents, Leo Lawrence and Ondine Gros Doiron; grandparents, Leon and Cecilia Doiron; Vileor and Ida Gros; brother, Leo Daniel Doiron; brother-in-law, William (Bill) Kimball; niece, Cecelia Kimball and nephew, Christopher Kimball. Visitation will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Celebrated by Fr. Joseph Sanjay. Interment in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Maringouin, LA. Pallbearers will be Shon Bourgeois, Michael Farr, Raymond Rome, Will Kimball, Kevin Kimball, and Jacob Kimball. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Ransome, Jr., Ezra Bourgeois, Jacob Farr, and Owen Farr. The family would like to thank Eva Rivet and Dianne Northern for the special care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Nanny Jessie was always so sweet to my daughter, Glenda. She won her love big time .Her smile was such a warm and loving one. I loved her dearly also. What a life!!!!!
