John passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 9:24 AM at his residence in Baker surrounded by his family. He was a native of Shattuck, Oklahoma and was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818 on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the Memorial service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Carl Rushing. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and David Freeman; his son, John "Jay" King, Jr.; two grandchildren, John McCurley and Melissa Freeman; one great-grandchild, Jackson David; daughter-in-law, Lindy King "Tommy"; two step-granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren, one sister and three brothers. Preceded in death by his wife, Ramona, his son, Thomas "Tommy" King; parents, William and Mina King and five siblings. As per John's wishes, he was cremated and will be buried in Shattuck, Oklahoma next to his wife and son on March 1, 2014. John loved his family and friends. Everyone that knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General, Bluebonnet and Hospice of Baton Rouge for the wonderful care of their father. Uncle John, It saddens my heart that you had to go, so hard to understand this circle of life and all mysteries of the Unknown. I Believe you are in Heaven with Other Family and Friends and someday we will all be together But know you are truly missed and loved and thought of daily, until then. Love you always, Rita Kay
