John, a life-long resident of Sorrento, passed away peacefully at the Carpenter House on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the age of 84. He was a retired plant operator for 28 years at Ormet. He also retired from Wal-Mart where he was a door greeter for 10 years. He was a retired US Navy veteran aboard the USS Caliente. Visitation will be at St. Anne Catholic Church, in Sorrento, LA on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 9:00 am until mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Celebrated by Father Lee. Entombment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in St. Amant. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtle Mae Brignac Kling, son, Blake Kling, daughter Hope Kling Dupuy (Todd), daughter, Paige Kling Robert (Luke), grandchildren, Emily, Jesse, Annie, Jasmine, Destin, and Alexandra and brother A.J. Kling, Jr. Preceded in death by his parents Antoine and Armantine Kling. Sister Ethel Vicknair. Pallbearers will be Eric Kling, Shawn Kling, Todd Dupuy, Luke Robert, Jesse Robert, and Leslie Kling.
