Josefine Jordan, nee Kranz, passed away on January 9, 2013 at The Carpenter House, a hospice center in Baton Rouge. Josefine, or Fini as she was known, was born in Trier, Germany on February 7, 1937. She was one of eleven children born to Margaret and Johann Kranz. Fini married Harvey Jordan, a career military man in the Air Force. They were married for 44 years before he passed away in 2000. The Jordan Family had many different Air Force postings including Germany, Florida, North Dakota and Iowa, before settling in Pearl, MS. Long-time residents, they owned and operated a Sonic Drive-In restaurant. She was a passionate gardener and prided herself on winning the city's "Yard of the Month" on several occasions. She loved to cook and bake and was devoted to her husband and children. She was also an avid crossword fan, which was one of the ways she learned English when coming to the US for the first time. Fini is survived by her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children: Tom Jordan and his wife Ann; Margie Ricks (a local Baton Rouge resident) and her husband Steve; Mark Jordan and his wife Theresa; Debbie Markham and her husband Rodney; and, Tony Jordan and his wife Sarah. Her grandchildren: JoNeel Vickery and her husband John David; Thomas Jordan and his wife Jade; Marcus Jordan; Jordan Ricks and his wife Abigail; Katie Phillips and her husband Austin; Chloe Jordan, Stephen Ricks, Catherine Jordan, Matthew Jordan, Benjamin Markham, Emily Jordan, Hannah Jordan, Cody Markham, Marianna Jordan and Caleb Markham. Her great-grandchildren: Ellie, Josie and Findley Kate Vickery. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Anna Johnson, from Pearl, MS; and a brother Hans Kranz, from Koblenz, Germany; and, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by best friends Don and Dixie Wetzel of Burkburnett, TX. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at Port Hudson National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013.
