Joyce was resident of Walker, LA. She was born April 17, 1933. Her earthly journey ended January 19, 2017 at the age of 83. She was a loving Mother and Maw Maw who taught us all that life isn't always easy but it's vital to work hard, be strong and to always have faith. She was a graduate of Live Oak High; a retired Livingston Parish School bus driver and she very much enjoyed her second career at Baton Rouge Printing Company. Her favorite hobbies were bowling, gospel quartets and holding and loving her precious grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Goff; her parents, Elvin L. "Sleepy" Efferson and Mary Burkhalter Efferson; her brother, J.L. Efferson; her sister, Helen King; and her great grand-daughter Ruthie Grace Smith. Ms. Goff is survived by her two sons and daughter –in- law: Curtis Rex Goff; Ricky and Melissa Goff; three daughters and sons-in-law: Rita and Kevin Lo'Veless; Connie Pourciau Gares; Michelene and David Trent; thirteen grand-children and eight great-grand children; and one great-great grandson. Rex, Rita, Connie, Ricky, & Melissa. I am unable to come for the wake & burial due to my circumstances here in South Carolina. Remembering lots of memories when we were growing up, the many visits, and happy times we had. Even though mom & your mom had their differences it never changed the love we had for each other. Your mom had that special love for all she came in contact with. She always had that special smile & hug. May the Lord Jesus Christ wrap His loving arms around you all as your go through the loss of you mom: my aunt. When mom died I had a neighbor give me an angel that had these words: "Love leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal". So true!
You all stay close. Time is too short. We never know when God will call us home! I love you all!
