Juanita "Sis" Murray Vercher, born in Baton Rouge, La on October 4, 1931, went to be with her Lord on February 15, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted herself fully to raising and loving her family, spoiling us all rotten. She loved singing to and rocking her "babies" to sleep, and we'll all remember snippets of certain special songs. We know she's in Heaven with her beloved Earl. She always said, "God will take care of me," and we take comfort in the knowledge that He is. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Earl J. Vercher and parents, Buster Murray and Roberta "Bertie" F. Murray. She is survived by a son, Jimmy Vercher and his wife, Judy; a daughter, Yvonne Dykes and her husband, Tommy; five grandchildren, Marianne Vercher, Alyssa Kairdolf and husband Brad, Brian Vercher, Amber Beatty and husband Adam, and Stacey Dykes; four great-grandchildren, Aubrie Pisanie, Taylor Pisanie, Angus Beatty, and Evelyn Kairdolf; sisters Jonnie Ruth Stafford and Janice Calhoun; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of The Carpenter House and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. The family has much gratitude for the help and love received from Celeste Meyers. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5pm until 9pm and on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 9526 Joor Rd, from 9am until memorial services at 11am. She was a long-time member of Grace Presbyterian, formerly Monte Sano Presbyterian. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph or Grace Presbyterian Church.
