Julian Lee Porta, a resident of Denham Springs and native of Baton Rouge, peacefully passed away at his home on November 5, 2013 at the age of 60. He was a loving husband, wonderful dad and a proud pawpaw to his 13 precious grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and loved traveling to U.S. destinations with mountains, hills and beaches. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Cynthia Bowden Porta; his five children, Chari Clark, Christopher Porta and wife Nadine, Tracy Bolton and husband Jon, Travis Porta, Elizabeth McAllister and husband Rodney; his mother, Hazel Norwood Porta and his three sisters, Sherry Graphia and husband Sammy, Janice Barbier, Robin Hernandez and husband Bruce along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Julian V. Porta. Arrangements are under the direction of Church Funeral Services & Crematory. Memorial service will be conducted by Dr. Leo Miller at First Baptist Church of Denham Springs, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services of Baton Rouge or Ochsner Cancer Services.
