A resident of Gulfport, MS, formerly of Central, LA, she passed away on January 14, 2014, at age 78. She was an Accounting Supervisor for DHS for State of LA, retired after 30 years. She was born in Long Beach, CA, and raised in Tulsa, OK after WWII. She is survived by sons Michael Herndon (Melissa) of Gulfport, MS and Ben Herndon (Susan) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters Janet Husted (TX) and June (Ken) Scoggins of Tulsa, OK; brother Don Husted (Julie) of Chicago, IL. Grandchildren: Wesley Herndon (Gulfport, MS) Jesse Herndon (Waveland, MS) and Evan Herndon (Chelsea) (Virginia Beach, VA) Great grandson Nicolae Herndon (Virginia Beach, VA). Preceded in death by: her parents A.I. and Margie Husted; husband Wayne H. Herndon and son Anthony (Tony) Herndon. Kathy loved living in Central. She greatly missed her friends and extended family when she moved away. The family decided to bring her "home" where she will be laid to rest in the place she loved. There will be a graveside service at Gateway Gardens Memorial Park; 29245 Magnolia Livingston, LA 70754 on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
