Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Kim Doré Martin, age 50, who died on Friday, February 28, 2014 at her residence in Katy, Texas. Entombment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum in Scott. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Concelebrants will be Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies and Reverend Michael Champagne. Lectors will be Manette Smith and Danielle Doré. Giftbearers will be Jamie Miller, Melanie Leger, Mandy LeBlanc and Kay Clause. Millie Darby, vocalist, will sing, "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid", "On Eagles' Wings" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied on the organ by Phyllis Simar. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, David Martin; one daughter, Heather Martin and one son, Logan Martin; two grandchildren, Emily Esquivel and Ava Esquivel; her parents, Larry Doré and the former Jeanette Begnaud; three sisters, Melanie Leger, Kay Clause and her husband, Daniel and Mandy LeBlanc and her husband Jeff; one brother, Kevin Doré and his wife Danielle; her mother-in-law, Judith Martin; sisters-in-law, Jamie Miller, Cindy Zerangue, Julie Armand, Angela Gay and a brother-in-law, Michael Martin. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dana D. Boutin and her father-in-law, Terry Martin. Kim was born on April 29, 1963 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of Katy, Texas. She had such a zest for life and courageously battled breast cancer for fifteen years. One would never know all she carried, because she always had a beautiful and bright smile. Kim loved to travel and made friends everywhere she went. She was a huge sports fan of LSU and the New Orleans Saints Football Teams. Kim loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be sincerely missed. Pallbearers will be Kevin Doré, Daniel Clause, Jeff LeBlanc, Donnie Boutin, Mike Martin and Johnny Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Doré, Sonny Wiltz and Nicholas Rivette. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Reverend Michael Champagne. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kim's loved ones. We worked together at OLOL Hospital and became friends. Heaven is getting one great lady who is a true reflection of God's perfect love. I always loved her sweet smile and happy disposition. I pray you will be comforted by God's love. May your happy memories sustain you in all the days ahead. Blessings to you all.
