Lawrence "Mr. Mac" McDaniel, 90, born September 28, 1927 in New Tazewell, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home in Livingston, Louisiana. Lawrence retired from the Armed services after 27 years. He also retired from Local 198 and Turner Industries where he spent 28 years at BASF Chemical Corporation as a turnaround supervisor and planner for major operations. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch, working in the garden, canning what came out of the garden and making tomato juice while teaching anybody that wanted to know or telling them how. He liked watching different sports on T.V. especially NASCAR on Sunday afternoons. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann McDaniel; parent, Robert M. McDaniel and Eula Gray McDaniel; sister, Della Mae Clark; daughter in law, Connie Fontaine McDaniel and his niece, Ann Durham. He is survived by his sons Larry, Michael, Robert, and Chad McDaniel; daughters Dedrua McDaniel and Melissa Oliver (Sam); grandchildren Courtney Drago (Chris), Kevin McDaniel (Rachel), Cody Mizell (Carlee) Austin Elrod, Jacquelin, Brittany, and Melanie McDaniel, Brook, Donald, Abigail, and Savannah Oliver; great-grandchildren Nathan and Landon Drago, Charlie Mizell, and Emmett McDaniel; brother in law Haskell M. Clark; nieces Penny Johnson, Jean Lewis, and Gail (Tom) Goodman. A visitation will be held in Ourso Funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday morning from 9:00 am until the service begins at 10:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow in Oak Lane Cemetery, Prairieville. Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the McDaniel family.
