Lisa Spiess Obituary

Mrs. Lisa Rae Verhein Spiess age 55, of Hendersonville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Lisa Spiess was born in Baton Rouge, LA on October 7, 1962, the daughter of Rita Roussel Roberts and Lamar Roberts. Lisa will forever be remembered for her radiant smile. Above all, she loved and valued spending time with her family and friends. When asked to describe the perfect words to portray Lisa as a wife, mother, and MiMi: fun-loving, playful, classy, selfless, kind, gentle, godly, spirited, joyful, humble, and a role-model. After working for Evans, Jones & Reynolds for twenty-three years, Lisa retired to answer her calling to become a grandma. MiMi's greatest passion was caring for her grandbabies. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake and a dedicated servant of the Lord. Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents; aunts, uncles; her brother, Dale Verhein; and a sister, LaRae Roberts. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 35 years, Ernest Spiess, to whom she was married on June 5, 1982; her mother and father, Rita and Lamar Roberts; three sons, Jacob (Sichel) Spiess, Matthew (Amanda) Spiess, and Adam (Krystal) Spiess; three grandchildren, twins, Elowen Finch Spiess and Everett Fox Spiess, and Edison Paul Spiess; and a sister, Lesli Dawn (Ronnie) Carter. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 4-8 PM with vigil including rosary starting at 7:15 held at Our Lady of the Lake Church. The funeral mass will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11AM, also at Our Lady of the Lake Church, with a preceding visitation at 10AM. As a celebration of Lisa's life, we ask that you wear bright colors! In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests contributions be made to Our Lady of the Lake Church in honor of Lisa's wishes: 1729 Stop 30 Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
