Lucille Miceli Goings entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Bennie C. Goings for 61 years. Loving mother of Bennie S. Goings (Connie). Grandmother of Gina Goings and Grant Goings, Sr. (Caroline). Great grandmother of Ella and Grant Goings, Jr. Also survived by several cousins, nieces, family and friends. Sister of the late Alfred J. and Vincent A. Miceli. Daughter of the late Marie "Mary" DiStefano and Salvatore "Sam" Miceli. Age, 93 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Mrs. Goings was a member of American Legion Post 218 Auxiliary and the VFW Post 2403 Auxillary. She resided for the past 4 ½ years at St. Luke Medical Center, Algiers, LA where she was cared for by their exceptional staff. Relatives and friends of the family and also members of the above named organizations are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Name of Mary Church, Verret St. at Alix St., Algiers, LA on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 9 AM until 11 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be private at Lakelawn Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Holy Name of Mary Church, Algiers, LA. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Luke Medical Center and St. Margaret's Hospice for their care and compassion.
