Mervin "Tony" Tassin, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the age of 80. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Betty C. Tassin of 58 years; children Mervin A. Tassin, Jr. (Sonja), Kevin P. Tassin, Sr. (Yvette) and Toni J. Tassin; grandchildren Kevin Paul Tassin, Jr. and Jarod S. Tassin; brother Neil Tassin (Marilyn). He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Elias and Laura Tassin; brother Huey Slocum. He retired from Kasier Aluminum after 30 years. Tony served in the US Navy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Thursday, September 19, 2013 1:00 PM. To Miss Betty.... So sorry for your loss. Mr Tony was really struggling at the end. I hope you and your family can find peace knowing that he is no longer suffering. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
