Phillip Randall Hooge Jr., a resident of Watson, Louisiana, died on July 13, 2017 at age 45. Phillip was a graduate of Live Oak High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. Phillip was an extremely hard worker. In the past 23 years, he worked his way up in the car business from salesman to Finance Manager. He was one of the youngest to become a Sales Manager in the shortest amount of time. Phillip was an avid bowler, where he rolled 2 perfect games and won a 300 plaque. He also enjoyed playing pool and golf. But those who knew Phillip best knew that his favorite times were spent in his beautiful backyard that he took such pride in, BBQing and relaxing in the pool with his family. He treasured those times so much. He valued quality time with his family just as much as he valued hard work to provide for their every need. Visitation at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 34890 LA-16, where Phillip was a member, on Monday, July 17, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by Dr. Mark Crosby. Interment to follow in church cemetery. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Brandi Hooge; sons, Austin Hooge and Zachary Hooge; daughter, Olivia Hooge; parents, Randy and Cathy Hooge; brothers, Jason Hooge and wife Stacy, Micah Hooge and wife Monica, Davey Hooge and wife Jami; maternal grandmother, Gloria Sullivan Mercier; uncles, Joe Mike Mercier, Billy Mercier and wife Sharon, and David Mercier; father in law, John Guidry and wife Judy; mother in law, Michele Dobson, nephews, Devin, Masun, Alden and Cohen; nieces, Maci and Ella; and a host of cousins and friends. He is proceeded in death by his grandfathers, Joseph Mercier and Emmett R. Hooge; and grandmother, Odelle Hooge. Pall bearers will be Jason Hooge, Micah Hooge, Davey Hooge, Austin Hooge, Devin Hooge, Matt Hornsby and Honorary Pall bearer, Zachary Hooge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Phillip Hooge Benefit Account at Whitney Bank. "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31.

I always remember Phillips' birthday, because he was born on mine. I kept telling Cathy he was going to be born on my birthday and he was. We've all been apart for awhile, but I still consider them my family. My heart goes out to each and everyone of them. May God give ya'll strength through this trying time. Love each of you Dorothy

Oh man this is such a travesty. I know we were only related thru marriage and maybe we could have been closer but there was never a time that being with him didn't bring smiles, laughs, and happiness. I always looked up to you as my older cousin and aspired to be as close to you in bowling, basketball, and just being an awesome man. I will miss you Phillip of "Flip" like JoJo used to call you. You certainly left us way too soon.
