Preston Craig "Nonk" Morgan, born Aug. 27, 1928 passed away at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2013 at OLOL Hospital. He was 84 and a resident of Central. He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor with Exxon Co. USA after 32 years and served as Master Sergeant in the US Army. Visiting at Zoar Baptist Church on Monday, Mar. 4 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Mar. 5 from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Dr. Kevin Hand, Ph.D. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Maryellen Gordon Morgan; sons, Dennis C. Morgan and wife Joni, Bradley LaCour Morgan and wife Lynn, Rev. Stacy Travis Morgan and wife Jan, and Dane Kyle Morgan and wife Terri; one stepdaughter, Linda Jean Rouse; sisters in law, Rosalie Morgan, Joan Steichen and Dr. James Steichen; brother in Law, Paul Conrad Gordon; grand children, Jason Morgan and wife Staci, Brian Morgan and wife Rachel, Kelli Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Stephen Morgan and wife Amy, Justin Morgan, Camille Morgan, Camryn Morgan, Rachael Morgan, and Seth Morgan; great grandchildren, Lily Grace Morgan, Bryce LaCour Morgan, Braiden Wayne Morgan, Cole Jacob Morgan and Taylor Faith Morgan; step grandchildren, Rixie Fae & Adam Albright, Ashleigh and Gary Daniel Normand, Robert James and Adrienne Lowry; step great grandchildren, Madison Rixie & Cooper Albright, Luke, Ella, Ben & Beau Normand, Caelan & IlerGrace Broussard & numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen Elizabeth LaCour; brother, George R. "Bub" Morgan; and parents, Robert Lee Morgan & Alma Mattie Craig Morgan. Pallbearers are Jason Morgan, Brian Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Justin Morgan, Stephen Morgan and Seth Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Albright, Gary Daniel Normand and Robert Lowry. He was a member of the Central Lodge #442 F&AM, Baton Rouge Scottish Rite, Zoar Baptist Church, The Clan Campbell Society of North America and The Piney Woods Annuity Club.

I worked with Mr Morgan for several years at Exxon in the early 1980s. Great man to work for and with. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
