Mr. Whitehead passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Livingston Parish on February 8, 1932. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Imogene (Moffett) Whitehead, his mother, Francis Ellen (Robards) Whitehead Tate, Father, Pearly Preston Whitehead and brother, Donald Tate. He is survived by daughter, Rhonda (Whitehead) Bowers and husband Jack of Dodson, LA., son, Ronald Whitehead of Baton Rouge, LA., granddaughter Victoria Martin and husband Andrew of Broomfield, Co., granddaughter Rachel James of Dallas, TX., three great grandsons Isaac James, Samuel and Rylan Martin. Mr. Whitehead served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954. He was employed by Gulf States Utilities/Entergy from 1954 to 1994. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and bowling. He was a member of Florida Blvd. Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, April 16th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 11:00am to 1:00pm with funeral services following at 1:00pm. Reverend Charles Hammons will officiate the service. Mr. Whitehead will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory immediately after the service. Pallbearers are: Bobby Sheets, Wayne Garrett, Lance Nowlin, Roy Bankston, Larry Ivy and Wayne Varnado.
