A retired U.S. Air Force LT. Colonel (pilot) was a native of Toledo, OH. After leaving the Air Force he received his bachelor's degree in education at Colorado University. After retirement he decided to slow down with his loving wife Aileen (Lady) of 60 years. They were active in the Air Stream Club and traveled often. He loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed going to the Indy 500. He loved the challenge of fixing anything and learning about new technology. After he lost Lady, life wasn't the same and he reconnected with Elizabeth Foil, who had lost her husband of 50 years. They had shared the life of being in the Air Force together. Ray was the commanding officer and pilot of Tommy L. Foil, Elizabeth's first husband. After Tommy's death he checked in on her often and after Katrina they soon began to court. They were united in marriage on November 11, 2006 at a family reunion. Life for the two of them became very active once again. At 96 years young Ray Deselms was born into Eternal Life on January 4, 2014. We will celebrate his life with a memorial on Friday January 10, 2014 at Meadows Chapel United Methodist Church at 6:30 pm. It will be conducted by Mark Lubbock and John Krause. He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan in Denver CO with full military honors.
