Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

I knew Raymond from the time I was born. Raymond and my dad Bennett Walker met on the school bus when they were in ninth grade and remained lifelong friends. They left from Nashville, TN at Union Station and were going together to the Navy . They were split up. My dad went to Bainsbridge, Maryland, and Raymond went to Norfolk, Virginia. Luckily, the war was almost over in 1945. My dad was always a TN resident, and Raymond often came back to visit in Cedar Grove. We lived close by, and the Talleys always came to visit and eat with us. He was always so much fun and good looking. I remember those visits so fondly as He was a great storyteller, and he and my dad had some great adventures together. Raymond continued to write Dad throughout the years. Tim if you’re interested, my dad still has them. We visited the Talleys in Metairie many times too and loved Betty and their children. What a wonderful legacy Raymond left. He was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. Belinda Walker Wade, Franklin, TN and Bennett Walker Sr. Wood Hill, TN.
