Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, for Reela Breaux, 87, who died on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette. Entombment will be in St. Anne Mausoleum. Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Deacon Cody Miller will assist with the services. Survivors include three sons, Russell Breaux and his wife Anne, Jimmy Breaux and Kenneth Breaux and his wife Linda; nine grandchildren, Jaime Dehart and her husband Toby, Joshua Paul Breaux, Russell "Rusty" Breaux and his wife Jaclyn, Chad Comeaux, Yvette Comeaux, Bridget Comeaux Bowers and her husband Brian, Kevin Breaux and his wife Lauren, Kelly Breaux and Katie Lail and her husband Jeremy; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchldren; and her siblings, Ella Rose Prejean and her husband Harry, Wilbert Alphonse and his wife Rose, Rose Aline Tribe and her husband Russell and Joyce Lynne Landry and her husband Raymond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Minus Breaux; her parents, Paul and Ena Alphonse; and two siblings, Leo Paul Alphonse and Renola Broussard. A lifelong resident of Youngsville, Reela Breaux was a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding her family. She loved gardening, planting flowers and maintaining a vegetable garden. Her house was always spotless even with all of the family and friends passing through. Reela was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Reela Breaux will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Joshua Breaux, Rusty Breaux, Kevin Breaux, Kelly Breaux, Clarence Prejean and Toby Dehart. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Comeaux and Jeremy Lail. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
