Ruby Lee Hill of Tickfaw, Louisiana, age 83, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. The late Rev. Homer and Ruby Hill pastored Little River UPC in Tickfaw for many years. Ruby retired from the United States Postal Service. She prided herself as being a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Ruby is survived by her son, Keith Wayne Hill (Karen Coker); grandchildren, Kimberly (Troy) Carney, Jonathan (Ashley) Hill, Stephanie Hill, Amanda (Donald) Greer, Ashley (Rodney) Barker, and Quentin (Kelsey) Ballard; great grandchildren, Madison JoLynn Carney, Mason Scott Carney, Carson Levi Carney, Kyle Paul Hill, Kodi Marie Hill, great grandson and spouse, Kolby and Jessica Hill, great granddaughter and companion, Kalyn Hill and Jonathan Drew, Travis Dakota Greer, Raven Lea Greer, Rory Blake Ashley Greer, Avery Dawn Barker, Axyl Allen Barker, Raylee Kay Barker, Liam Mathew Ballard, Elisha Joseph Ballard, and Aria Jade Ballard; great great grandchildren, Kendal Danielle Hill, Jessie Karter Hill, and Kennedy Rose Drew; sister, Ethel Newman Bell; brother, James Ed Newman; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Homer David Hill; very dear friend, John Governale, sons, Kenneth David Hill and Kendall Paul Hill; grandson, Bradford Keith Hill; great grandson, Bradley Austin "Bo" Carney; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kay Hill; parents, Walter Sr. and Tina Newman; and brothers, Walter Newman Jr., Marion Newman, and Levon Newman. Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Little River United Pentecostal Church, 11005 LA-442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Little River United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana. An on-line guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
