Ms Ruby Lee Brown Ray passed away peacefully Friday evening, September 15, 2017, in the arms of her loving family. She lived a long life of 93 years as a dedicated Christian, daughter, wife and devoted mother. She touched the lives of her family and others with her love of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Charity was the "hallmark" of her life. Ms. Ruby Ray was preceded in death by her beloved parents; William Alexander Brown and Bertie Mae Laird Brown, her loving husband TJ Ray, her cherished brother Cecil Ray Brown, and devoted son-in-law George "Gene" Rauh Jr., and her little granddaughter Mara Lydia Dignam. She is survived by 5 daughters, Donna Eileen (Ray) Kimball, Glinda Gail (Ray) and husband Michael Dignam, Susan Carol (Ray) Rauh, Jane Ellen (Ray) and husband Sardy Bernard Jr., Angelia Denise (Ray) and husband North Cambre; 23 grandchildren, and baby Corvin Kimball on the way; 56 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; her dear sister-in-law Stella Burris Brown; loving nieces and nephews and extended family members. Ms. Ruby Ray graduated from Oakdale High School in 1942, where she enjoyed sports, won awards for debating and was a math and Latin Scholar. From high school she completed Beauty School, and in later life she completed Travel Agent certification along with a Computer Certification and Tax Preparation Certification from Delgado College in New Orleans, Louisiana. She filled her life in support of her husband in his political and governmental responsibilities. She was President of the PTA, Bible School Teacher, Fashion Show Co-coordinator, talented seamstress, gourmet cook, home decorator and was a board member of the National Christian Women's Association for over 15 years. She enjoyed poetry, needle work, travel, and spending time with her family. Ms. Ray was a champion for her children's well-being. She will continue to be remembered and cherished by her family. The viewing is Friday 22, 2017, at the Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale, LA, from 2 til 4 pm for family and 4 to 9 pm for friends and late arrivals. The Funeral service is at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 23, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Oakdale, LA. Final services are at Oakdale Cemetary at 12:30 pm. The family wishes to thank Doctor Bui and his physician's assistant, Josephine, MyCentric Healhcare, along with Adela Floarea at Garland Serenity Home and staff.

A true Southern Lady. I will miss you every moment. Very generous and served and loved all. Very giving and had great character. All who knew her loved her. I love you Mother for all of eternity.
