Sadie Mae Cantu, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House on September 9, 2017, at the age of 85. She was a high school graduate of Istrouma High School in 1950. She had a contagious smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and brightened the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by son, David Hernandez (Gail), daughters Debra Clark (Gary Sr.), Valerie Gould, Sharon Pizzolato (Greg). Grandchildren Gary Clark Jr., Jennifer Wolverton (Russell), Rebecca Landry (Joe), Randall Pizzolato, Thomas Hernandez (Angelica), Susan Brewer (Russell), and Lindsey Roy (Chad). Great-Grandchildren Breanna Jones, Brooklynn Olano, Kayla Walker, Mitchell Jr. and Logan Rodgers, Dustin Floyd, and Connor Roy, and sister Barbara Forbes. She was preceded in death by her first husband Louis Hernandez, and second husband Leo Cantu. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Morales, sons Warren and Michael Hernandez. Brothers Stanley, Malcolm, Harold, Carold, and Lynwood Morales. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will continue at 12:00pm Thursday September 14th, until service time at 2:00pm. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Nottingham Rehab and The Carpenter House.
