I worked under Dr Carpenter for many enjoyable years in what was the Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Dept. He helped make my job easier to work with the staff.

Dear Jane,
The Oklahoma State University foresters were all saddened to learn of Stan's death and will be thinking of you. I will forward the news to Chuck Tauer who is not living in Oregon and will want to know.
Nancy and I are still in Stillwater and I am back in the classroom teaching the courses I taught when Stan hired me back in 1986. Stan's bringing me into the OSU Forestry Department has had a very positive effect on my professional career.
