Thomas Davis Obituary

A native of Shreveport, LA and a long term resident of Baton Rouge, Thomas passed away in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 71. Tom was a graduate of Northwestern State University having participated in the ROTC and was a percussionist in the Northwestern State University Band. He was a retired Production Director for Louisiana State University and a former Natchitoches Police Department Lieutenant. He was the first King of the Krewe of Akewa in Minden and he also produced documentaries for Cable Vision of Shreveport and LSU in Baton Rouge. Tom is survived by his spouse James King of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Lisa Davis (Vicki Zagone) of Downsville, LA; grandson, Ryan Herrington; great-grandson, Kasen Herrington; mother-in-law, Minnie Lou King of Ada, OK; and sister-in-law, Stephanie King of Ada, OK. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ollie May Davis; grandmother, Mida Coleman; aunts, Marie Hunt & Beverly Cook; sister-in-law, Joyce Ann King; and brothers-in-law, Lonnie Dale Johnson & Dennis Van Johnson. Visitation will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family at www.rabenhorst.com.
