Willie Newman Rhines Jr., first-born son of Helen and Willie Rhines Sr. was born October 18, 1954 in Baton Rouge, LA. He departed this earth on Monday, June 18, 2018. Willie better known as "Tootie" to family and friends was born and raised in Old South Baton Rouge where he attended McKinley Sr. High School. Shortly, after high school he began working at Sunbeam Bakery and later went on to work at K.C. Offshore as a surveyor for approximately ten years. However, for the past 15 years, he was a dedicated worker at St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, where his co-workers became his family and the Cathedral became his second home. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Willie Rhines Sr.; Sister, Betty Rhines; Brother, Newman "Butch" Rhines; Sister, Margaret "Poochie" Rhines. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Deborah Rhines; three brothers, Daryl (Gail) Rhines, Gregory (Yvette) Rhines, Calvin Rhines; two daughters, Kisha Rhines, Kyra Rhines; two sons, Derek (Nikki) Jackson, Willie Rhines III; two grandsons, Derek Jackson Jr., Samuel Bass; two granddaughters, Brylei Rhines, Deranecha Francois; one great-granddaughter Zhuri Peirson. He is also survived by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services and Interment will be held at Winnfield Memorial Park 7221 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70811. Visitation: Saturday, June 23, 2018, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Funeral Service: Saturday, June 23, 2018, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at 1:00 PM
