A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Burkburnette, TX, he passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the age of 88. He was an Army Veteran, a graduate from the University of Houston, and a retired insurance salesman. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, April 12, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by two sons, Byron and Micheal Adams; one sister, Wanda Williams and husband, James; one brother, Edward Adams and wife, Nancy; two sisters-in-law, Margie and Estella Adams; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Adams; son, Richard Adams; parents, Frank and Rosa Adams; four brothers, L.J., Durwood, James, and Jerrell Adams. Pallbearers will be Byron, Micheal, and Edward Adams, James Williams, Harlow Smith, Vincent Dubroc, and Billy Bitner. Memorials can be made to Gaston Museum P.O. Box 301, Joinerville, TX 75658-0301.
