Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Nicholas "Nick" D. Defiore, age 83, a native of Crown Point, Louisiana and resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was a retired Chemical Plant Operator with Georgia Gulf with 30 years in the Chemical Industry, former owner of Cross Keys Restaurant in Donaldsonville, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Survived by his wife of over 59 years Betty Breaux Defiore; four daughters Gwen Faucheaux and husband Stephen; Nickie Lynn Castrogovannie; Glenda Shaheen and husband Glenn; and Colleen Ourso and husband Russell; sister Jacqueline Sampey and husband Nelson; brother Jackie Defiore; eleven grandchildren Michael Castrogovannie, Stephen Faucheaux II and wife Misty, Aleaha Morgan and husband Tim, Mathew Shaheen and wife Kristie, Patrick Faucheaux and wife Brandi, Alex Defiore and wife Mechelle, Jenna, Malana, and Russell Ourso II, Lauren Faucheaux, and Daniel Shaheen; ten great grandchildren Stephen III, Grace, Sophia and Julia Faucheaux, Karsyn and Kamryn Shaheen, Brayden and Brylee Morgan; Nathan and Isabella Defiore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Bertha Howell Defiore and Nicholas Defiore; three sisters Claudine White, Marie Ball, and Louise Krahenbuhl; three brothers Paul, Gilbert, and Earl Defiore. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Smoke Bend. A private graveside service will be held at later date. Special thanks from the family to St. Elizabeth Hospital for their tender care.
