The Lord above met another angel at heaven's gates. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2014, at the home of his daughter in Denham Springs, LA at the age of 70 years old. He was born in Weisner, LA and resided in Denham Springs. He was retired from Local 406 known as the "Best heavy equipment operator of all times." For the last 30 years he has spent time doing what he loved, his passion, playing and singing Blue Grass and gospel music. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine Dupree; son and daughter in law, Danny and Dawn Dupree; daughter, Shari Dupree; three sisters, Joann Wroten, Vickie Cavin, and Charlotte Dupree; three brothers, Felton Dupree, Henry Dupree, and Thomas Dupree; four grandsons, Brad Simpson, Chase Templet, Victor Picard, and Blake Dupree; three granddaughters, Lauren Simpson, Paige Moreau, and Bayleigh Picard; two great grandchildren, Braxton Templet and Aubrey Templet. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ozora Ferrington Dupree; father, Ellis Dupree; sister, Ruth L. Dupree. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 2 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Friday, February 14, 2014, from 10 AM until service at 12 PM conducted by friend and pastor, Jim Carlisle. A Life Celebration will follow after Interment at Greenoaks Reception Center. Pallbearers will be Danny Dupree, Blake Dupree, Brad Simpson, Chase Templet, Felton Dupree, and Henry Dupree. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Dupree. A special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, the LVAD team at Ocshner of NOLA and to his caregiver and friend, Judy Thigpen.
