A resident of Clinton, LA and a native of Chewalla, TN died at his home on March 3, 2014 at the age of 77. He was semi-retired President of Barnes Lumber Company, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda White Barnes. 3 sons; Homer D. Barnes and wife Carol C., Ronnie N. Barnes and wife Carol G., Johnny R. Barnes and wife Patricia. 2 sisters; Olivia "Gail" Perkins and Bonnie "Sue" Stephens, special niece Theresa McGee . 9 grandchildren; Kasey E. Barnes and wife Kate, Kelli D. Howell and husband Murray, Belinda S. Chemin and husband Cory, Christina B. Bennett, Billy Joe Barnes and wife Lesley, Katie B. Barnes, Dwayne J. Deville, Jessica L. Deville and Briann L. Deville. 12 great-grandchildren; Kaleb, Logan S., Ethan, William, Barrett "Shooter", Bentley, Kaden, Rydar, Logan B., Kaylea, Kerstyn and Bradyn. He is preceded in death by his father and mother; Ernest and Nancy Barnes, brother Ernest S. "Buggs" Barnes, and sister Bobbie Faye Barnes. Visiting will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Charlet Funeral Home, Clinton and Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 8:30 am until services at 10:00 am conducted by Rev. Tom Higginbotham. Burial will be at Barnes Family Cemetery in Norwood, LA. He loved saw milling, fishing, hunting, cooking and gardening.
