Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, from 3:30 - 5 at the Boone Funeral Home at 2156 Airline Drive in Bossier City. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held from 5-6, immediately following visitation, also at Boone Funeral Home. At a later time, in a private ceremony, her ashes will be scattered on the Atchafalaya River, near her childhood home in Bayou Current. Ludy was preceded in death by: her husband, Marion F. Neames, and a son, Marion F. Neames, Jr, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Ray W. "Ball" Harvey of Sewanee, TN, and Morgan C. "Doc" Harvey of Bayou Current; two sisters, Alma Devillier Smith, of Rayne, LA, and Lizzie Hemann of Houston; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Bradley Hernandez. Hernandez, and his wife, Erin O'Neil Hernandez, of Bayou Current, and Jeremy N. Hernandez, of Shreveport; and three great-grandsons, Brady, Lucas, and Austin Hernandez, all of Bayou Current. Ludy lived most of her life in Baton Rouge where she was a very active member of the Broadmoor United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her smiling face, her jovial disposition, and her kindness to all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She always thought of others before herself. Indeed, even in great pain near the end of her life, she was still thanking those who cared for her. The family is very grateful for the medical care provided by so many, as she struggled with Alzheimer's Disease during her 15 years in Shreveport, including but not limited to: Dr. Wen Liu, Tangela and Patricia Hall, Londa Small, Sandy Pierre, Dana Glenny, Jennifer Vicknair, and Marsha Robinson.
