Rex Ann Ward, born June 25, 1957, a resident of Assumption Parish and native of Longview, Texas, was called home to our Lord on Sunday on March 23, 2014. Rex, as she was affectionately known, was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt; a friend to all who were privileged to have known her. Memorial Visitation will be from 9:00AM until funeral time Wednesday, March 26, 2014, with services to begin at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Napoleonville, LA. Brother Chuck Chaisson will be officiating the services. She is survived by her mother, Lee Ann O'Quinn Thornton; sister, Vikki Ward Taft and husband Justin of Springfield, IL; stepbrother, V. Ray Thornton, III and wife Connie of Napoleonville, LA; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pal, "Acie." She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Ward; stepfather, V. Ray Thornton, Jr.; niece, Misty Lee Boudreaux; stepsister, Virginia A. Thornton; grandparents and two uncles. She will be truly missed by all. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Canon Hospice of Baton Rouge, 1761 Physicians Park Dr. Suite B, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
