Age 76 and a lifelong resident of Baptist, Buck went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his residence. He was a lifetime deer hunter and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Buck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Buck leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Leona Norman Kinchen; daughters, Phyllis Kinchen and husband Tim, Judy McLain and husband Russell, Robin Noto and husband Michael, as well as his 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, David Scott Kinchen. Preceding Buck in death were his daughter, Betty Jean Kinchen; sisters, Earline Kinchen Addison and Earnestine Kinchen Mayers; parents, Ernest and Bertie Bankston Kinchen. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Ben Stratton will officiate the services and interment will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Condolences and other information are available online at www.thompsoncares.com.
