Thomas Dunkley Guerin, 80, a resident and native of Ventress, LA passed away on Thursday April 17, 2014 at Point Coupee Health Care in New Roads, LA. He was a retired trooper with the Louisiana State Police. He was also a veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid hunter. Visitation will be at Niland Funeral Home, New Roads on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 10:00am until funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm. Interment to follow in Chenal Cemetery. He is survived by four daughters, Gwen Chustz and her husband Mark, Tomilyn Guerin, Julie Simmons and her husband Curtis and Jonell Vessier and her husband Donald; one son, Troy Guerin; six step children, Sandy Jarreau and husband Mike, Kim Mooney and husband John, Karen Tresch, Ray Tresch, Steve Tresch and wife Amanda and Sidney Tresch; one brother, Roy Guerin; eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Guerin, second wife, Juanita Guerin, brother, JW Guerin, sister, Nancy Guerin Couvillion and his parents, Joseph and Sara Guerin. He was a member of the Woodman of the World, the American Legion, American Cattle Association and American Quarter Horse Association.
