A ceremony celebrating the life of Mr. Douglas L. Alexander will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am at Gray's Creek Baptist Church; visitation will begin at 9 am until time of the service; interment will follow at Felder Cemetery with Rev. Carl Sullivan officiating. Mr. Alexander was born in Jayees, MS to the union of Lester and Henry Griffith Alexander on October 30, 1933 and departed from this life on Thursday April 24, 2014 at Golden Age Nursing Center at the age of 80 years. He was a resident of Denham Springs; retired pipefitter, he spent his last 30 years of employment with Borden Chemical; a member of local 198 for 50 years and Gray's Creek Baptist Church; he enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially gardening; his passion was his family. He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Ard Alexander; his parents, a sister Kaylynn Alexander; a brother Clancey "Pete" Alexander. Survivors include his daughters Cathy Alexander, Janet Nelson and husband Rev. Mitch Nelson; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Julee Alexander; sisters Gloria Rayborn, Linda Rosso, Pansey Dunaway, Judy Gilchrist and Sally Presnell; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with two more to arrive in July 2014; host of nieces and nephews.
