A native of New Roads and resident of Baton Rouge passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Gail B. Tarkington and husband, David; son, Rickey L. Bizette; son, Gary M. Bizette and wife Cathy; grandchildren, Janet and Billy Woodward, Kristin Bladen and husband Jay, Kalyn Bizette, Scott Bizette and wife Kristi and Greg Bizette; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jason Julian, Starla and Faith Woodward, Sabrina Charlie, Kayna Bladen and Austin Bizette; great-great-grandchild, Arieanna Charlie; brother, Benny J. Swindler; sister, Bernadine Miller and husband T.A.; sister-in-law, Anna Lee Swindler; five Godchildren, Marilyn, Katherine, Sylvia, Sonya and Janice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Virgie was preceded in death by her husband, Felton L. Bizette; son, Daryl Michael Bizette; brothers, Major Swindler, Sr and Horace Swindler, Jr; and her parents, Adele Major Swindler and Horace Swindler. Pallbearers will be Gary Bizette, David Tarkington, Scott Bizette, Greg Bizette, Earl Langlois and Jay Bladen. Virgie loved doing crossword puzzles and collecting cook books. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 pm. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.
