Esther Kirsch Plaisance, born on April 20, 1924, passed away on Friday, May 09, 2014, at her residence, at the age of 90. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who is survived by her husband of 70 years, Leo H. Plaisance; son, Glenn A. Plaisance; grandchildren, Julie Plaisance and life partner, Debra Buchanan, and Karen Rayborn and husband, Russell; great grandchild, Wyatt Augustus Rayborn and one on the way; siblings, Jerry P. and Joyce Kirsch, Thomas A. and Rosemary Kirsch, and Huey P. and Clementine Kirsch; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eva Kirsch; and siblings, Eva Mae Calais, Margaret K. Guidry, and Harry J. Kirsch. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 11 AM until funeral service at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Jackie Cappe, Latoya Jackson, Brandy Baker, Alice Joseph, and St. Joseph Hospice for all of their love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jospeh's Hospice and The Baton Rouge Food Bank.
