Paul Felix Loup III passed away on May 19, 2014 in Hurley, Mississippi after a long battle with cancer. He was 78. He was born on November 27, 1935 in New Orleans, La. Paul grew up in Waveland, Mississippi, the eldest of seven children of the late Paul F. Loup, Jr. and Julia Wilkins Loup, He graduated from St Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, Miss. in 1953, attended Ole Miss and joined the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served from 1954-1957. He also served in the 4013th U.S. Army Reserve Garrison, Baton Rouge, La. He earned his B.S. and M.S. from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, taught high school science and math for many years in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, retired as principal of Woodlawn High School in 1996. Paul was preceded in death by his soulmate and loving wife of 50 years, Mary Sue Smith Loup, a daughter, Pamela Noelle Loup Daigre Miller, a son, Patrick Michael Loup, and a brother, Jimmy Loup. He is survived by his son, Paul F. Loup IV and wife Sallie Rowell Loup of Hurley, Miss., five grandsons, Jonathan Paul Mills, Jeremiah Paul Daigre, Jacob Alan Miller, Patrick Michael Loup II, and Billy Brown, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Datee Loup Benvenutti and husband Ben of Las Vegas, Nev., Mimi Loup Brown and husband Bobby of Long Beach, Miss., Betty Loup Seal of Robert, La., two brothers, Andy Loup and wife Maris of Long Beach, Miss., Walter Loup of Petal, Miss., and a multitude of nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Edmund Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, Miss. with Father Cuddy conducting the service. The visitation will be at 1:00 pm till service time at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Stanislaus or the church or in his name.
