Geneva "BaBa" Joseph Dugas, 80, peacefully entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014, surrounded by her family at Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a graduate of Scotlandville High School. She married her loving husband, Mr. Samuel Joseph Dugas Jr. of 63 years on July 4, 1951, and from this union they had six children. Over the course of life, Geneva was a faithful member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church until moving her membership with her husband to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Viewing will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m., Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Baton Rouge, Father Thomas Clark, officiating; interment at Southern Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her loving and loyal husband, Samuel Joseph Dugas Jr.; three devoted daughters, Samuella Dugas Frazier, Marilyn Dugas and Cheryl Dugas Marks; three dedicated sons, Jerome Gerald Dugas Sr. (Tammy), Samuel Joseph Dugas III (Beverly), Sherman Delane Dugas Sr. (Judia); a sister, Mary Joseph Lawerence (Miles); three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
