He passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014, at age 75. He was born in Maringouin and was a resident of Baton Rouge. He served in the Army with a rank of specialist 4. He retired as a sanitation and receiving supervisor for Flowers Baking Company. Survivors include his wife of 51½ years, Gloria J. Marcellous; one daughter, Gwennetta M. Marcellous; one sister, Lenora Poydras; 3 brothers, Lindolph Marcellous, Dale Farris and David Farris. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brother and nephews. Services are entrusted to Scott's Bluff Mortuary. Pastor Clifton Conrad Sr. will conduct the funeral at Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014. Visiting will be from 9 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Louisiana National Cemetery in Port Hudson, La. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Camphor United Methodist Men Scholarship Fund or to Camphor United Methodist Outreach Center, c/o Pastor Clifton Conrad Sr.
