Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Neely United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge for Mr. Sam Banks, Jr., 90, who passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at his residence in Baton Rouge. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Rev. Arnold V. Brown will be officiating the services. Mr. Banks, a native of Clinton, LA and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, was a member of Neely United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He held the position of Business Agent in the Cement Mason's Local 812. Mr. Banks is survived by: his wife, Estelle DeBeau Banks of Baton Rouge; one son, Charles Kevin Banks of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Teresa Sabrina Banks of Alameda, CA; three sisters, Iona Tremmell and Cora L. Lee, both of Baton Rouge and Viola Jefferson of Clinton; 2 grandchildren, Christina Jenelle Calonsag and Monique Jackson; 1 great grandchild, Zuri Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Sam Banks, Sr. and Lizette J. Banks; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Visitation will be observed on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Neely United Methodist Church. Ford and Joseph Funeral Home, 907 N.
