A resident of Denham Springs and native of Bluff Creek, he passed away at his home on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the age of 70, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's. Visitation will be held at Bluff Creek Baptist Church, 1706 Hwy 63, Clinton, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 10:00am until Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm, conducted by the Rev. Keith McAllister and Rev. Tom Higginbotham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia Smith Strain, his daughter, Tricia Pourciau and husband Jason, his son, Lance Strain and wife Lisa; three sisters, Carolyn Strain Kelly, Faye Strain Morris and husband Hubert, Diane Strong; three brothers, John B. Strain, Robert Wayne Strain and wife Mary, Duane Strain and wife Michelle; and two grandchildren, Matthew Strain and Christian Pourciau. He was preceded in death by his parents.
