Emmit George Lawson, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away at Chateau D'ville Nursing Facility on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 6:20 p.m. He was 83. Visiting at Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, St., 926 St. Patrick Street, Donaldsonville, Saturday, August 2, 2014, from 11:30 A.M. until religious services at 1:30 P.M., Rev. Timothy Campbell, pastor, Rev. David Joseph officiating. Interment in Protestant Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Evelyn Armstead Lawson. A daughter, Cheralyn Comeaux and husband, Welmon. A brother, John Lawson and wife, Brenda, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other realtives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Lawson and Ruth Jones Lawson. Three sisters, Shirley Lawson Cox, Julia Edna Mae Dright and Cecile Buggage Davis. Brazier-Watson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
