A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, August 4, 2014, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Lionel Wolfshohl, 78, who passed away Friday, August 1, 2014, at Lafayette General Hospital. Visitation will be observed on Sunday, August 3, 2014, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and resumes Monday, August 4, 2014, at 9:00 am until the time of services at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. Inurnment will follow in Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA, at a later date. Pastor Derald Weber, Senior Pastor of The Pentecostals of Lafayette Church will officiate. Lionel was born Wednesday, September 25, 1935, in Woodsboro, TX, and was a resident of Acadiana. As a 1957 graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge, he pursued a career as a Petroleum Engineer. He was a parishioner of The Pentecostals of Lafayette Church. He was an avid outdoorsman but was especially interested in gardening and fishing. Most of all, Lionel loved spending time with his wife and family. Lionel is survived by his beloved wife of seventeen years, Moneta Wolfshohl of Broussard; two daughters, Lynda and husband, Mike Willems of Waldheim, LA. and Gwen and husband, Steve Wester of Bentley, LA; son, Lionel Wolfshohl, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; stepson, Brett Mobley of Provencal, LA; stepdaughter, Ashley and husband, Tracy Patterson of Broussard, LA; sister, Evangeline (Vangie) Schirmer of Corpus Christi, TX; aunt, Gladys Brymer of Victoria, TX; brother-in-law, Martin Pundt of Refugio, TX; five grandchildren, Rachel Young, Loren Young, Jeremy Young, Emily Young, Sage Berard; four step grandchildren, Joshua Wester, Lacy Bonvillian, Joshua Lindsey and Justin Mobley and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wolfshohl and Ellorene Walters; brother, Billy Seiler; sister, Dianne Seiler Pundt and maternal grandparents, Herman and Johanna Walters.
