Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Harold James Letz, Sr., 87, who died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at 4:01 p.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. Mr. Letz is a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. He and his brother, Paul worked together for many years as civil engineers and land surveyors in South Louisiana. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Rev. David Green, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Letz is survived by one daughter, Carol L. Stanford of Alexandria; two sons, Harold J. Letz, Jr. of Crowley and John K. Letz and his wife Elizabeth of Medford, OR; two grandchildren, Ian Stanford of Washington, DC, Jason Stanford and his wife Claire of Arlington, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Allen Letz; one daughter, Sharon Letz; his parents, Paul and Emma Look Letz; one brother, Walter Letz. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Lutheran Church, 121 West 8th St, Crowley, LA 70526 or a in memory of Mr. Letz.
