Roland J. Blanchard, 69 of Belle Rose passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Roland was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church, and enjoyed helping with Allons Manger and the food bank, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Cajun Chef's. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church with Rev. Andrew Merrick, celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Jules Mausoleum under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville. Survivors include his mother; Therese Cedotal Blanchard, his sisters; Isabelle Mabile, Elsie Webre and husband David, half-sisters; Cecile Mabile and husband Carroll, and Shirleen Landry, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Claude J. Blanchard, grandparents; Simon and Cecile Simoneaux Blanchard, and Eugene and Adele Hue Cedotal.
