Callie Wiley McKenzie, a native of Effie, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the age of 99½ years. She was a very dedicated woman to her Church family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She spent many years as a school bus driver for the EBRPSB. She was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Michael S. McKenzie, and Darlene Thorson Brou; grandchildren, Landon Wade Brou and Chloe Rose Spiker; Charles Brou; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, G. Shelton McKenzie, her parents, George and Louella Wiley; 6 brothers, Deenie, Gervis, Steve, Travis, Merkel, OV, and 2 sisters, Queenie Ryland and Hazel Key. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 8 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Landmark Nursing and Lifesource Hospice for their love and care during her time with them. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Istrouma Baptist Church and/or the .
